Unapologetically Woman
My Beauty Rocks
B.E.A.U.T.Y.
"I am Black, Beautiful, and Intelligent"
Black Beautifully Elegant Adolescents Uniquely Talented Youth is a chapter of Unapologetically Woman designed for girls' ages 6 to 9 years old. BEAUTY helps little girls begin to define their identity. Our African American girls have difficulties knowing who they are as they have so many television role models and peer pressure. B.E.A.U.T.Y. understands every girl child eventually grows into a woman and although, a girl does not choose whether she wants to become a woman, she does have a say about the kind of woman she chooses to become and that is where BEAUTY comes in.
B.E.A.U.T.Y. utilizes an African Role Model cartoon character created by Desiree Fleming entitled "Papatha"to promote courage, leadership, and self-worth to our African American girls.
B.E.A.U.T.Y. Sessions are designed to inspire and empower little girls to be okay with and love who they are, and not to allow that they watch on television to create their image. For more information regarding upcoming events please email us at uwoman18@gmail.com It’s about empowering them to know that their Beauty Rocks.

Tammy’s K.I.D.S.
“Tammy’s K.I.D.S.” foundation walk is inspired by the life of Fertamia Smith, also known as Tammy who sadly lost her life in April 2009, at the age of thirty–five years old; Tammy became the tragic victim of murder, after suffering domestic violence for more than ten years. Tammy was the mother of small children, who not only lost their mother but the father who took their mothers life.
UWoman has established an Annual walk during the month of October to raise awareness and take a stand against Domestic Violence and support for surviving children of domestic slain mothers in the cook county area.
UWoman is looking for sponsors, as well as participants to walk this 4 mile walk. Each mile represents the children left behind, as a result of this senseless injustice done to Tammy. We believe each mile walked will bring awareness of domestic violence happening and hope to bring an end to families being destroyed due to domestic abuse.
